1:1 Presentation Skills Coaching
Presenting is a learnable skill
Working hard will generally keep you employed, but to get promoted, and to earn a pay rise, you need to be visible.
Learning to use your voice at work, and knowing when to speak up in meetings with your idea, or offering to give that presentation is essential to be visible in the workplace. This is relevant for both men and women; however, some research suggests that women can face challenges that are different from challenges that men face.
“During decades of leadership coaching, we have consistently heard women (…even senior women…) say that they feel less effective in meetings than they do in other business situations. Some say that their voices are ignored or drowned out.”
But there is something you can do. You can practice with a trusted partner. On a 1:1 basis, you can learn my three-part presentation model, which helps you craft your message for your next meeting, or in a formal presentation – so that it resonates with your audience. It has three phases:
- Catch: the audience’s attention – using storytelling
- Connect: find a way to connect with the audience
- Convert: Identify the call-to-action / next step (what is your desired impact)
Tools used in the 1:1 coaching process can include:
- input on structure and content
- video critique
- role play
- physical and mental preparation rituals that you can practice before your present
Presentation Curation and Editing is also available. As well as helping you practice your presentation, I can help you:
- incorporate storytelling elements
- edit your slides or script
- help you practice the presentation itself. See success stories:
